For the last decade I've been a VS Code person. Tabs, sidebar, command palette, the whole package. But three months ago I switched to Vim, and I haven't looked back.
The thing that finally clicked was: I stopped trying to use Vim like an IDE. Once I treated it as a text-manipulation engine instead, everything made sense. Anyway, comments below — would love to hear what convinced you (or what didn't).
