How is SE-ARTCP different from CEH or OSCP?
CEH is a multiple-choice-only credential focused on general ethical hacking. OSCP is hands-on but not AI-focused. SE-ARTCP is the first credential specifically targeting AI red team work, with a hands-on lab component (5 lab tasks alongside 80 MCQ) so it has practical credibility, not just paper credibility. Pricing is $299 vs $1,199+ for CEH and $1,649+ for OSCP -- 4× cheaper for an exam targeting a more current skillset.
What is the exam format?
4 hours total. 80 multiple-choice questions (1.5 hours) plus 5 hands-on lab tasks (2.5 hours). Pass mark is 70% overall AND ≥50% on the lab section -- so you cannot pass on MCQ alone. Online-proctored via ProctorU. The questions are drawn randomly from a bank of 800+ items, so no two candidates see the same exam.
Do I need to take the AI LLM Hacking Course first?
No, the cert is independent of any specific training. But our 30-day AI LLM Hacking Course covers the full SE-ARTCP blueprint, and most candidates who take both pass on first attempt. The course is free; the cert is paid.
How long is the cert valid?
3 years. To renew, you need to either retake the exam or accumulate 40 CPE credits (Continuing Professional Education). CPE credits can be earned by reading our advanced articles, attending AI security conferences, completing approved courses, or publishing original research.
What if I fail?
Free retake within 30 days of your first attempt. Subsequent retakes are $99. Most failed candidates pass on second attempt after reviewing the domain breakdown showing where they lost the most points.
Is the cert recognized by employers?
SE-ARTCP launches Q3 2026 -- recognition will build over the first 12 months. We are actively building employer recognition through three channels: (1) free cert grants to 100 named industry red teamers in exchange for public reviews, (2) conference talks at DEF CON AI Village, BSides events, and RSA, and (3) university partnerships for bulk free academic licensing. Once the cert is live, we recommend listing it as "AI Red Team Certified Practitioner (SE-ARTCP) -- 2026 cohort" on your CV.
Can I take the exam from anywhere in the world?
Yes. The exam is fully online-proctored via ProctorU. You need a webcam, microphone, stable internet (5 Mbps+), a quiet room, and government-issued photo ID. The proctor session works in 99% of countries; we recommend testing your setup before scheduling the exam.
Is there a free version?
